The Irby West Conservation Easement

The Irby West Conservation Easement was completed in
December 2003. The Irby family placed a conservation
easement on 197 acres of irrigated meadow in the
Tomichi Valley, about 20 miles east of Gunnison.

This productive agricultural property adds to the 17
miles of protected riparian corridor along Tomichi
Creek. Funding for this easement was provided by the
Farm and Ranchland Protection Program, Great Outdoors
Colorado, and the Gunnison Valley Land Preservation
Board.
