Bob and Alice (Carpenter) Fulton are protecting 399 acres of grazing land on Soap Mesa, overlooking Blue Mesa Reservoir.

Greg Peterson protected 300 acres of irrgated meadow and sagebrush on Razor Creek.

Guerrieri Easement

In October 2005, the Guerrieri family protected 115 acres of irrigated meadow between Highway 135 and County Road 10.

The Templeton easement, completed in September 2005, protects 99 acres along Tomichi Creek.

 

The Robbins Ranch
 
Robbins Ranch
Willows along Sun Creek provide habitat for songbirds and other wildlife. Irrigated meadows provide grazing land for cattle and horses.

The Robbins' property includes a mixture of sage, aspens, Douglas fir, and grasses.

Hollenbeck Easement

In April 2004, Gene Hollenbeck granted an easement on 282 acres along Tomichi Creek, six miles east of Gunnison. Gene’s easement includes productive hay meadow, sagebrush grazing lands, and important habitat for the Gunnison sage grouse. Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust holds the easement.

 

The Ochs Ranch
 
Ochs Ranch
The Ochs Ranch Project was completed in November 2003. This complex project preserved 4,733 acres of prime ranchland in the Ohio Creek and East River Valleys. The land includes critical habitat for the imperiled Gunnison sage grouse.
 
Ochs Ranch
Seven ranch families participated in the project. The value of the easements on this land exceeds $8 million dollars. Funding for the project was provided by Colorado Species Conservation Partnership, Gunnison Valley Land Preservation Board, Colorado Conservation Trust, local families and private donors.
